How long is an initial appointment?
An initial physiotherapy appointment is 45 minutes long.
An initial and all subsequent strength & conditioning sessions are 50 minutes long.
What can I expect from my initial appointment?
The clinician will give you a full assessment to help them understand your condition as best as possible. The assessment may involve enquiry into the history of your condition and the clinician may ask you to perform a range of exercises and stretches to demonstrate your range of motion and level of pain.
Following assessment, the clinician will create a Plan of Care according to your health goals.
The clinician will prescribe you exercises to perform at home and if suitable, may provide manual treatment.
What is a Plan of Care?
A Plan of Care is a treatment plan which provides both you and your clinician with a roadmap to recovery.
The Plan of Care starts from where you are now (your current condition) and finishes with your desired outcome (your end goal).
Your desired outcome is that you want to get back to and what your pain and symptoms are stopping you from doing.
For example, standing from sitting without back discomfort, walking down the stairs with confidence that your knee will not give way, being able to play and list your children without pain.
Your Plan of Care will outline a timeline for your recovery and the number of sessions required to get you back to full health.
What is PhysiApp and how does it work?
PhysiApp is an online platform that allows healthcare providers such as physiotherapists to create and prescribe clinical exercise.
The app is free to download and use.
Your clinician will create an exercise program on the app, in-line with the exercises prescribed during your appointment.
You will receive an email notification within 24 hours of your appointment, providing you with a link to the app and an access code. The access code will enable you to access your personalised program.
PhysiApp allows you to stay on track with your exercises. The exercises are demonstrated via video and audio descriptions.
You can tick off your exercises as you complete them and at the same time, your clinician will be able to keep track of your progression and pain levels.
Our payment process
Payment is taken at the time of booking your appointment, in advance of your appointment.
